Hello! I'm really glad you're here.
If you have Long COVID, you’re probably feeling overwhelmed trying to find appropriate care. The research is still evolving and most providers don’t fully understand how to treat conditions like Long COVID and ME/CFS. Getting an appropriate diagnosis can be challenging and once you have one, you still may be left without treatment for your symptoms.
I know firsthand how challenging and frustrating it can be to navigate these challenging conditions.
As the program manager of the one of the most comprehensive Long COVID clinics in the United States, I’ve spent years immersed in understanding Long COVID and associated chronic conditions. I’ve helped thousands of people navigate care, make sense of their symptoms and connect with the right treatments and resources.
I understand that despite advances in research, quality Long COVID care continues to be difficult to find for most people unless you live near a major research hospital.
That’s why I created Long COVID Clarity.
This is a space for grounded, practical support. I offer evidence-informed care navigation to help you understand what’s happening in your body, explore treatment options and figure out which specialists or strategies might be most helpful for your unique Long COVID profile.

Hi, I’m Julie Sullivan, MS.
I’m a healthcare leader, clinician and educator with over 25 years of experience helping individuals navigate complex medical conditions. My background is in neurological speech-language pathology, and my career has spanned hospital systems, academic teaching and program development.
Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, I’ve worked on the front lines of COVID care and helped build one of the largest and most comprehensive Long COVID programs in the world at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA.
As program manager, I’ve worked closely with thousands of individuals experiencing post-acute sequelae of COVID-19, guiding symptom management, coordinating care and integrating emerging research into clinical pathways. My work bridges science and lived experience, with a focus on Long COVID, post-viral illness, immune dysregulation, ME/CFS and autonomic dysfunction.
I launched Long COVID Clarity Coaching to expand access to knowledgeable support. My goal is to bring evidence-informed care navigation and practical, grounded support to people wherever they are.
Alongside my clinical and program leadership roles, I also lead and contribute to a range of education, advocacy and outreach efforts including:
- Co-facilitate support groups for people with Long COVID and the important people in their lives
- Lead expert-led forums featuring top Long COVID researchers and clinicians
- Write and curate a weekly Long COVID newsletter that synthesizes new research, clinical trial updates and national news into clear, actionable content
- I created the Greater Boston Long COVID Awareness Week in partnership with BIDMC and Boston Medical Center
- I served as a committee member for the former AHRQ Long COVID Care Network, advising 12 new federally funded Long COVID clinics on program design, access and care navigation
- Support advocacy and equity work through the Boston COVID Recovery Cohort, helping shape policy and elevate community voices
- Speak regularly on podcasts, panels and clinician education events about Long COVID, understanding symptoms, new research and treatment models and the importance of equitable, coordinated care
Let's talk about how I can help you!

I’ve helped lead and grow one of the country’s most trusted Long COVID programs, and I bring that same experience to my work with you. You’ll have access to expert guidance that’s informed, compassionate and always tailored to your needs.
I understand and am current on emerging treatments for long covid and chronic illness, clinical trials and expert consensus. I’ll help you understand what’s promising, what’s hype and what might actually help you. I can connect you will research and guide you through the process.
There’s no rigid protocol here. Whether you're housebound, working full-time or somewhere in between, we’ll work together to create a plan that honors your capacity.
I bring deep experience with the kinds of multisystem conditions that often show up together, like dysautonomia, post-exertional symptoms and autoimmune flares. We’ll work to understand what’s happening in your body and how to best manage your symptoms.
I take time to understand your background, your circumstances and what matters to you. My work is guided by respect, clear communication and a commitment to making care feel accessible and personalized.
I believe in clear, upfront pricing and respectful, collaborative care. You’ll never be pressured into extra sessions, and I don’t promote or sell treatment products of any kind. My goal is to offer meaningful support that fits your needs and respects your time, energy and budget. If you are experiencing financial hardship, I reserve a limited number of sliding scale sessions.
I help you understand your symptoms, manage daily challenges and identify which specialists may be helpful based on your history and needs. We’ll also talk through how to prepare for appointments and advocate for appropriate care.
I provide educational materials, care guides and symptom management tools for long covid and chronic illness that are evidence-informed and practical. I can recommend which specialist referrals, clinical trials, trusted providers and programs can expand your care system.
I stay up to date on the latest research in Long COVID, ME/CFS and related conditions. I break down new findings in plain language, explain how they may apply to you and help you stay informed without feeling overwhelmed.
I connect individuals living with complex illness to peer groups, services and communities where they don’t have to explain everything. Together, we build a system that reduces isolation and helps you feel more seen and supported.
I help you navigate systems like workplace accommodations, school supports and Social Security Disability. I offer practical guidance, documentation strategies and tools rooted in trauma-informed, equitable care that respects your lived experience.
If you're caring for someone with Long COVID or chronic illness, I offer tools, clarity and resources to help you navigate that role in a sustainable way. We’ll talk through what to expect, how to set boundaries and how to access support for yourself too.
Every client receives tailored resources after sessions, including symptom guides, care planning tools and relevant research. I maintain a curated Dropbox of evidence-informed materials, handouts and worksheets that are practical and easy to use and customized to fit your needs.
Living with Long COVID can be isolating, especially when no one around you really gets it. I help connect you with trusted peer groups, online communities and others walking a similar path. Whether you're seeking solidarity, encouragement or a place to feel understood, you're not in this alone.
Whether it’s figuring out what kind of specialist to see, how to advocate for referrals, or how to better manage your day-to-day, I’ll work with you to identify priorities and build a plan that feels manageable.

Long COVID (also called Post-Acute Sequelae of COVID or PASC) refers to symptoms that persist or appear after a COVID-19 infection. These symptoms can affect people of all ages, including those who had mild or asymptomatic COVID infections.
Long COVID is a multi-system condition, meaning it can impact the brain, heart, lungs, digestive system, nervous system muscles and more. For some, their symptoms are constant. For others, symptoms come and go or flare in severity after activity, stress or exposure to other illnesses.
Long COVID can affect people of any age or health background. Most cases occur in adults, however, babies, children and teens also develop Long COVID. While estimates vary, research suggests that between 10% and 20% of individuals who contract COVID-19 may go on to experience lingering or new symptoms post-infection. The risk is lower in those who are vaccinated, but Long COVID continues to occur after breakthrough cases and with repeat infections. Some people are more likely to develop Long COVID than others. While these are not causes of Long COVID, the following factors may increase one’s vulnerability:
Researchers believe that Long COVID symptoms are driven by several overlapping factors that may show up differently in each person depending on things like genetics, hormonal influences and immune function. These factors are still being studied but may help explain why symptoms vary so widely and affect different combinations of body systems.
People with Long COVID can experience a wide range of symptoms that vary in type and severity. Some symptoms come and go, while others may persist for months. They can affect multiple systems in the body and often interfere with daily life.
SARS-CoV-2 is a new virus that behaves differently from those that came before it. Researchers are still working to understand how it affects the body and how to treat the long-term damage it can cause. Long COVID is a complex immune-mediated condition that is not fully understood. It can affect nearly every body system and doesn’t fit neatly into one medical specialty.
People with post-infection chronic illnesses are often passed from one provider to another, told their test results are normal, or left to manage dozens of symptoms on their own. Even after receiving a diagnosis, many are given little direction on what to do next. Most providers have not been trained to recognize Long COVID and may not be familiar with the latest research.
At the same time, funding for many critical Long COVID initiatives has dried up, making it even harder to access high-quality care and accurate information.
Let’s find the right fit for you. I offer a range of coaching and care navigation options to meet different needs, budgets and stages of illness. Whether you’re looking for a one-time consult or ongoing support, all sessions are designed to be practical, flexible and rooted in real-world experience.
Whether you’re newly diagnosed or deep in the maze of chronic illness, one-on-one coaching offers support tailored to your life.
